How Subconscious Studio collects, uses and protects your information. This policy is written to meet the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and was last updated in August 2026.
Subconscious Studio is a clinical hypnotherapy and mindset coaching practice operated by Soraya Butterworth at 498 Hibiscus Coast Highway, Orewa, Auckland 0931. You can reach us on 0274 846 181 or through the online booking system on this website.
Information you give us. When you book a session through our online booking system we collect your name, email address, phone number and whatever you choose to tell us about why you are getting in touch. If you phone or text us, we hold that conversation and your number.
Session information. During hypnotherapy we may record written notes about what we work on. These notes are kept solely to provide continuity of care between your sessions.
Website usage. Like most websites, this one collects anonymous usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location and the device you used. This is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
We use your information to schedule and deliver your sessions, to answer your enquiries, to send appointment reminders and confirmations, and to understand which parts of this website are useful.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not add you to marketing lists you did not ask to join.
Everything discussed in a hypnotherapy session is confidential and protected by professional ethics. It is not shared with your family, your employer, your coach, your club or anyone else without your explicit permission.
There is one exception, and it is the standard one across the profession: if there is a serious and imminent risk of harm to you or to someone else, we may be legally or ethically required to act. Wherever it is safe and possible to do so, this would be discussed with you directly first.

This site uses cookies for analytics and for basic functionality such as remembering that you have already dismissed a message. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not stop you using the site.
Enquiries and booking records that do not lead to a session are deleted within twelve months. Client session notes are retained for seven years, in line with professional practice standards, and are then securely destroyed.
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, and ask us to correct anything that is wrong. Email or phone us and we will respond within twenty working days.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new revision date.
